Recommending a service is not something we take lightly, especially when it comes to a decision as important as web hosting. However, we have people asking us almost daily for advice in choosing a reliable web host. We personally use and recommend 1and1 hosting to meet all your small business web hosting needs.

Honestly, we were not even looking for a new host when we found 1and1. We had been with the same local hosting company over a period of time and were fairly satisfied.

For us, the overwhelming deciding factor was definitely the free 24/7 phone support service included in their plans. Since we often work late at night, we liked the option of being able to call technical support at 3:00 in the morning if we needed to.

To begin with, we made the decision to move just a few of our domains to 1and1, on a trial basis. With plans priced as low as $3.99 a month we found packages available to meet and exceed the needs of most anyone.

After taking the time to carefully look through the various 1and1 hosting packages, we decided that the Linux based Developer Package would best meet our needs to start out with. It had all the features we wanted, along with plenty of space and bandwidth.

Although we initially felt that the control panel was a bit on the slow side, the extensive services and features provided have gone well beyond our expectations. With 1and1 having so many positive aspects, the speed of the control panel has proved to be little more than a minor inconvenience for us.

We had a few occasions where we needed to call technical support for clarifications on how to implement a few techniques. We were pleasantly surprised to find the techs to be refreshingly helpful and courteous. Time spent on hold was minimal.

Overall, we are very pleased with the hosting services provided by 1and1. So much so, that we have since moved the majority of our domains, along with several client sites.

If your web host increases your fees for hosting multiple domains in the same account, you may want to seriously consider a new host that can meet your business needs. We use 1and1 for the vast majority of our websites and buy many of our domains there too.

One major benefit of this hosting company is that you can set up multiple websites for your domains (within one account) without increasing the cost. How cool is that?

Probably much like you, I don't have a lot of confidence in online reviews, especially when it comes to website hosting. One thing that may make this review different is that I never recommend a product or service that I do not personally use.

I have been using 1and1 to host my domains for a few years now and overall, I am extremely pleased. If I wasn't, I wouldn't use them. It is as simple as that.

I'm not going to throw a lot of sales talk at you in an effort to try to convince you that you should move your web hosting over to them. I am also not going to tell you that they are perfect, because the fact is there are real people running 1and1 and humans aren't perfect. But overall, I'm truly very pleased.

Of course, if you decide to switch to 1and1 hosting and you happen to use one of my links on this page to place your order, then they will credit my account with a few bucks. But that isn't my reason for my recommendation. And if that bothers you, just don't use one of my links. I am still going to recommend them, either way.

Bottom line, if you are looking for a new web host and you want extreme value for your money, you just can't go wrong with them.
